Welfare of the Horse to Benefit from Events During AAEPs 61st Annual Convention in Las Vegas

Sep 25, 2015

A pair of fundraisers for the American Association of Equine Practitioners (AAEP) Foundation will bookend the social events calendar at the AAEP’s 61st Annual Convention, Dec. 5-9 in Las Vegas, Nev., in what annually is the Foundation’s most substantial week of fundraising.

The AAEP Foundation Benefit Golf Tournament, hosted and sponsored by Patterson Veterinary, Equine Division, will tee off Friday, Dec. 4 at 11:30 a.m. Meanwhile, the 19th Annual AAEP Foundation Celebration, sponsored by Zoetis, will take place Tuesday, Dec. 8 from 6:00-11:00 p.m. All proceeds from these events will support the Foundation’s mission to improve the welfare of the horse.

The scramble-style golf tournament will be held at Rhodes Ranch Golf Club, rated a “4-Star Place to Play” by Golf Digest and located 15 minutes from the Mandalay Bay Hotel and Convention Center. The picturesque par-72 course provides a world-class setting for a memorable round of golf, with multiple water features, varying elevations, stunning city and mountain views, and gently rolling fairways.

The entry fee is $100 per person by Nov. 6 and $125 per person after Nov. 6. The fee includes greens fee, cart, range balls, transportation, post-event reception and a small donation in your name to the AAEP Foundation. To enter, visit the “Events” page at www.aaepfoundation.org or call the AAEP Foundation at (859) 233-0147 or (800) 443-0177 to request an entry form.

The AAEP Foundation Celebration is the social centerpiece of the convention and features entertainment, buffet dinner and open bar from 6:00-8:00 p.m., live and silent auctions, and dancing. Country artist Sam Riddle, who entertains capacity crowds throughout Las Vegas 20 or more nights per month with his high energy, showmanship and sultry voice, will take the stage at approximately 8:30 p.m. and have the dance floor hopping the remainder of the evening.

The Foundation welcomes auction and cash donations. To donate or for more information about the Celebration, visit the “Events” page at www.aaepfoundation.org or call the AAEP Foundation at (859) 233-0147 or (800) 443-0177 to donate.

The Foundation Celebration will be held in the South Seas Ballroom at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center. Tickets are $95 per person by Nov. 6 and $125 per person after Nov. 6. Tickets may be purchased when registering for the convention or on site at the convention while available. Tickets will not be sold after noon on Monday, Dec. 7. To register for the convention and order Foundation Celebration tickets, please visit www.aaep.org/info/annual-convention.

The AAEP Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization created in 1994, serves as the charitable arm of the American Association of Equine Practitioners to improve the welfare of the horse. Since its inception, the Foundation has disbursed more than $3.3 million to support its mission.
