Erin Denney-Jones, DVM, a solo equine practitioner and owner of Florida Equine Veterinary Services, Inc., in Clermont, Fla., has joined the board of directors of the American Association of Equine Practitioners (AAEP). Dr. Denney-Jones was installed Dec. 9 during the AAEP’s 2020 Annual Convention & Trade Show. Her three-year term expires in 2023.

After receiving her veterinary degree from the University of Missouri in 1992, Dr. Denney-Jones completed an internship at Mississippi State University and spent two years as an associate in a surgical referral practice before establishing her ambulatory and clinic practice in the mid-1990s. She achieved FEI veterinarian status in 1995 and worked as an event veterinarian at the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta. For the past 20 years, she has hosted an annual all-day horse owner education meeting to help the region’s horse owners improve care for their animals.

Dr. Denney-Jones previously chaired the AAEP’s Owner Education Committee and served on the Sports Medicine Committee and Trail & Events Committee. In addition, she was a charter board member and treasurer of the Florida Association of Equine Practitioners.
